Geological characteristics and gas-bearing evaluation of coal-measure gas reservoirs in the Huanghebei coalfield

Bystudying the source reservoir geochemical characteristics, cap physical properties, gas-bearing characteristics and reservoir-forming types of coal-measure gas (CMG) accumulation system, potential CMG resources in Huanghebei Coalfield was determined, sedimentary control mechanism analyzed, which is great significance for orderly development reservoirs. mainly includes abundant shale (SG; 2100.45 × 10 8 m 3 ), coalbed methane (CBM; 137.89 ) a small amount tight sandstone gas, limestone magmatic rock gas. rocks include coal seams marine–terrestrial transitional facies Taiyuan Formation continental Shanxi Formation, providing favorable material basis enrichment. The are largely mature to highly mature, with satisfactory hydrocarbon generation connectivity. They low-porosity, low-permeability, underpressurized undersaturated organic matter primarily Type II, moderate abundance. at middle-to high-maturity stage, provides suitable potential, belongs low-porosity low-permeability reservoirs, exhibits fracturing properties. There several stable independent systems among measures. combination mostly self-sourced reservoirs self-sourced+other-source near-source followed by other-source CBM SG play role vertical regulation horizontal regulation, respectively.
